The Heart Center in Umeå aims to provide the best care for heart patients in northern Sweden. We offer highly specialized cardiac care and have overall responsibility for the region's patients.

The Heart Center includes the Cardiology Clinic, Thoracic Surgery, the Cardiologist, PCI Lab, the Arrhythmia Unit, as well as Clinical Physiology and the Center for Cardiovascular Genetics. We investigate, treat, and operate on patients from the entire northern region with diseases of the heart, lungs, and coronary arteries. By collaborating across borders, having efficient care chains, working with continuous improvement, and having competent staff, we can offer care of very high quality. We have about 400 employees at the Heart Center.

At the Cardiologist, we have about 20 assistant nurses and 30 nurses. The Cardiologist consists of the Care Department (10 care places), the Heart Intensive Care Unit HIA (5 care places), and the Investigation Department, which is a weekly care department with 6 overnight care places plus day care.

In our three departments, there is a mix of planned activities, intensive care, and emergency cases from the emergency department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an assistant nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe.

Patients in the cardiology department primarily come to us via the emergency department but can also come from another clinic, department, or from HIA once the patient has stabilized. Your tasks as an assistant nurse in cardiology offer great variety in terms of content and pace.

After learning the work in the care department, you will have the opportunity to further develop in the Cardiology Investigation and HIA.

Here we are flexible and work independently with qualified cardiac care, where one day is not like the other. As an assistant nurse with us, you work closely with the patient, focusing on good care and qualified cardiac care in teamwork with nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, and social workers.

Since NUS is a teaching hospital, the supervision of students is also included.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a recognized assistant nurse education. Since assistant nurse is a protected title, you need to present a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare, or alternatively a service certificate that allows you to use the title until June 30, 2033.

We value previous knowledge in hospital care, but it is not a requirement. To thrive with us, we see that you are flexible, cooperative, and positive. You enjoy working in a team and also take personal responsibility and structure your workday.
